1832: The Royal Arcade opens.

1963: The Royal Arcade is demolished.

1963 - 1971(?): The west and south facade stones are mapped and labelled, then stored in Shieldfield. They are to be reassembled close to their original location and in their original configuration as the historic facade to Swan House, a newly constructed building on the same site.

1970 - present: An internal replica of The Royal Arcade's interior is constructed inside Swan House.

1971(?): The decorative stones of the facade are redistributed throughout Heaton and Armstong Park. The rest are buried(?).
